Season: May–October
Route: Cholpon-Ata – Semenovka Gorge – Grigorievka Gorge – Kara-Köl Lake – Cholpon-Ata (140 km)
Duration: 1 day
In the morning, you’ll set off with a guide to the Semyonov Gorge — one of the most beautiful places on the northern shore of Issyk-Kul. As you walk through coniferous forests and alpine meadows, you’ll hear stories about the nature of the Tien Shan, local legends, and the nomadic lifestyle of the Kyrgyz people.
Then begins a scenic drive over a mountain pass, offering breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and deep valleys, leading to the second destination — the Grigoriev Gorge, known for its winding river flowing beneath towering cliffs and pine-covered slopes.
The next stop is the secluded mountain lake Kara-Köl, hidden among rolling hills. Here, you’ll enjoy the tranquil nature and take unforgettable photos against the backdrop of turquoise waters and majestic mountains.
A traditional lunch awaits you in cozy yurts on the lake’s shore: plov (pilaf), flatbread, tea, kumis (fermented mare’s milk), and fresh local delicacies.
After lunch, take a short walk to a small waterfall, where you can relax by the rushing water and breathe in the crisp mountain air.
To end this eventful day, you’ll visit the hot springs in Cholpon-Ata, where you can unwind in warm mineral waters and restore your energy surrounded by nature and mountain scenery.
